This lone tree stands atop a small rise looking over the distant snow covered Scottish mountains as snow showers move down the valleys. It was a cold, windy day and as I made the photograph I was filled with thoughts of what the tree must have ‘seen’ and experienced during its time. I named it ‘The Watchman’ as it felt as if the tree was standing watch over the mountains.
